When planning a unit, what are the most important things for the student to know, understand, and be able to do? Understanding by design focus on creating unit plans that are rigorous and engaging. In this session, we will combine this approach with current research on the brain to make sure those lessons transfer and are better retained. These lessons will lead to improved knowledge and student performance.
